Although they didn't really have eye thing everywhere. :)Sallyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04733481980796523888noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7022583968231804346.post-5533144654346923492008-11-02T20:14:00.000-08:002008-11-02T20:14:00.000-08:00ps: The chicken head is gross.ps: The chicken head is gross.tsduffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06457805824149563737noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7022583968231804346.post-14471529697801400512008-11-02T19:11:00.000-08:002008-11-02T19:11:00.000-08:00I love these eye beads and macrame. I remember those grandma ladies coming up to your little girls, pinching their cheeks and saying "Mashala mashala mashala"... old superstitions linger on. What a great informative post. I wouldn't mind having some of those little beads...but only because I think they are so pretty.

Whose big hand is that, knocking on wood?

Birthday month for Dave - another year older and deeper in debt...tsduffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06457805824149563737noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7022583968231804346.post-83611391783695877092008-10-31T09:42:00.000-07:002008-10-31T09:42:00.000-07:00Aaahhhh! Interesting, but sad that they don't know how wonderful & all powerful Jesus is and how powerless objects are. I am so glad to know that in this day and age of crumbling or nonexistent morals, and growing economic distress and worldwide corruption, a day of such uncertainty and, yes, fear, well, I'm just glad to know that Jesus is my God. He is my insurance, my strong tower of refuge, and I need not be afraid.
Love you guys,Kellyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15829245515895973596noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7022583968231804346.post-54038090048644904002008-10-30T11:04:00.000-07:002008-10-30T11:04:00.000-07:00Very interesting writing. Not that they use objects to lure the evil eye but things that they hide a woman's pregnancy from public as long as possible, so baby and mother will not be subjects of bad wish until they are strong enough, or that was my understanding. Also, they avoid to say nice things about someone in his/her presence, and are embarrassed when they are said nice things about face to face. It was so strange to me at first but finally understood the wisdom in it.

I like the pictures too.Ariel the Thiefhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15097086287609287362noreply@blogger.com
