Storks yay! Ours are slowly getting ready to fly to South.

Is the Medusa head in the Hagia Sophia, too? That building has one interesting history.

Very funny photo report!

The Medusa is in the cisterns and there are actually two of them one is sideways and one upsidedown. The Hagia Sophia was wonderful. I could feel it's age and history looking up at it's huge dome with both the mosaics from the byzantine empire and the tilework and fretwork from the islamic empire. Yes, it has a long and interesting history.

All I can way is "WOW"!!!! What sacrifice and painstaking efforts many unnamed souls went to in order to build these magnificent edifices!!! When I walk through old, historic buildings, I am always struck by the fact that real people walked there, lived there, worked there, had emotions there, died there.... I wish that we would all give as much attention to making sure the final destination of our souls as we do to other matters in life.
Thank you for making the effort to put these breathtaking photos on your blog. :D
P.S. Yes, we had a great (though too short) time with Sally & family. We missed you though.

How come I don't have any storks? Since reading about them in all the children's stories -I always wanted to see them on some chimney.

I love how Medusa is known around the world. Her snakey head has repulsed and fascinated many - including me.

What was that pool used for? It looks beautiful and mysterious.

YOU DIDN'T TELL ME YOU HAD A BLOG! BUSTED!

That said, wonderful pictures! It is fantastic to see some of the things you see, to see the kids and Dave, and, yes, you!

Dr Smith said I looked like Medusa that time you did my hair...

Your camera did a great job of showing the details of the art work. I loved the variety of your pictures. Of course I am partial to the ones of the grandkids!
Love,
Mom

Great pictures!
I wanted to say Hi and wave from nearby Italy. I landed here (maybe I am that alien falling from the sky?) by black Box travel.
